Christian Education and discipleship is very important at First Baptist Church. We offer Sunday School classes for children of all ages on Sunday mornings at 9:00AM. We have a nursery and a wonderful well qualified nursery attendant who cares for our littlest ones during Sunday School and Worship. We follow Safe Church policies in all of our programs.
In our Sunday School, children and youth learn the stories of Jesus from teachers who take the time to teach, listen and encourage the children while instilling in them a positive healthy Christian faith. Once a month there is a special all age program led by Maria Reilly and our teachers that might emphasize Mission, Communion, Service, Christmas or Easter.
Our Youth are under the leadership of Mark Reilly who leads the Sunday School class and Youth Group activities approximately two times a month. They have a great time! Check out the Youth Group Blog to see what they are up to!
On Sunday mornings adults gather for coffee and conversation in Fellowship Hall with Pastor Debbie using a United Methodist curriculum called FaithLink. FaithLink links current events with scripture and our Christian faith. In addition two to three times a year, a special Bible Study or book study group meets during a weekday morning and evening for conversation and sharing. All are invited!
Carol Huebner has been a member at First Baptist Littleton since 1985, she is a mother, a teacher and has served as Moderator and a Sunday School teacher. Carol says:
"We are Christ’s disciples. We are called to nurture each other as together we grow in faith and love in Jesus Christ. We nurture each other and hence our individual journeys by being in fellowship, by breaking bread and through prayer. We provide opportunities for growth in Bible Studies, in church school, in worship, in youth activities, in mission experiences and trips, in visitation and coffee hour conversations, through our music and the numerous ways we minister to each other individually in times of need and in times of celebration. We witness to the importance of giving with a grateful, loving heart. All of this discipleship emerges out of our own individual personal relationships with Jesus Christ and our understanding that as a response to those personal relationships we are to express that faith and love in Christ through our Christian witness."
