FBC will be offering a six week conversational series on Religion and Science. The series will be held at 12 noon on Sundays beginning January 15th (excluding Feb 5) and all are welcome to attend.
Bring a sandwich and join us for in-depth conversation on religion and science which will ask “Can you be a Christian and take science seriously?” At a time when influential voices are demanding that we either abandon the practice of religion or reject the findings of science, this essential and inspirational course produced by the Wesley Ministry Network offers a positive alternative: a way to live in today’s world as scientifically informed believers.
The DVD series Religion and Science Pathways to God is hosted by Francis S. Collins, Director, The Human Genome Project, and the series will be facilitated by Rev. Deborah J. Blanchard. The six sessions on Religion and Science are:
1. Introduction 2. Friends or Foes? The Story of a Complex Relationship 3. Truth in Science and Theology
4. Creation and Evolution - February 12 5. Genetic Science & the Frontiers of Ethics - February 19\ 6. God of Nature - February 26
